Yes. Scoring and sharing a live match is completely free, with no account required. The viewer page has one small ad unit — that's the only revenue. It never appears on the scorer page.
Why don't you need to register? What's the catch?
Most sports apps that become globally famous are heavily venture-backed. To return that money, they're forced to make you register, sell your data, push ads into the app, or get you to book turfs through them.
Score My Match isn't that. It's a small independent tool built to do one thing: share a live score in seconds. No investors telling us to monetize you. No registration wall. No data to sell.
Do I need to sign up or create an account?
No sign-up required. Just visit the site, pick your sport, enter team names, and set a short scoring password. Your match is live in under 30 seconds.
Which sports does Score My Match support?
We currently support cricket (with scorecards) and football/soccer (with scoreboards). We plan to add more sports based on user feedback and demand.
Can I use Score My Match without creating teams or players?
Yes. Just enter two team names, create the match, and start scoring. There are no player registrations or team setup.
What is the scoring password?
When you create a match, you set a short code (like LION42). This password lets you update the score from the scorer page, while keeping the viewer link public and read-only. Anyone with the viewer link can watch — only you can score.
How do I share the live score with friends?
After creating a match you get a unique viewer link. Drop it into a WhatsApp group, SMS, or any app — anyone who taps it sees the live score updating in real time, no login needed.
How long does the match link stay active?
The link stays live for 30 days from the last score update. Share it before kick-off and it will be valid through the full game and for weeks after.
Can I score from my phone on the field?
Yes. The scoring screen is designed for one-handed use on a phone with large tap targets and instant feedback — no page reloads, no fiddly inputs. Works on any modern mobile browser.
Can multiple people view the same match?
Yes, unlimited viewers can follow the same link at once. The score refreshes automatically every few seconds with no action needed from viewers. Only the person with the scoring password can update the score.
Does the score update automatically?
Yes. The viewer page refreshes the score silently every 3 seconds — no tapping, no reloading. As soon as the scorer taps an action, it appears on every viewer's screen within moments.
Can spectators watch without installing an app?
Yes, completely. Viewers just tap the link — it opens in any mobile browser, no app download, no sign-up, no permissions. If it opens WhatsApp, it works.
What happens if I lose internet while scoring?
The scoring page will show an error if it can't reach the server. Just reconnect and continue — your last saved score is safe in the cloud. Keep a mental note of any events you missed and add them once you're back online.
Can I edit the score if I make a mistake?
You can undo the last event from the scorer page. For anything older than that, create a new match — it takes under 30 seconds and keeps things simple. Full edit history is on our roadmap.
